This page shows the range of colours available for incorporation into decals, usually as a background colour that matches the paint colour of your model where the decal is to be applied. To use it to select a paricular colour, please click on the button below the relevant colour patch. This will take you back to the main decals ordering page while setting the decal colour to that of the patch you have selected.

The current status (availability) of each colour is shown below its patch. These have the following meanings:

For those colours that I have already matched, the colour of the patch is the colour I have to give to my printer to produce the specified colour in a decal. For the other colours, the patch colour has been obtained from other sources, such as a scan of the manufacturer's printed colour chart, or the manufacturer's website; the colour shown is therefore only approximate. In both cases the colour you see on screen will only approximate the specified paint colour. In some cases I have been unable to obtain a suitable colour specification so the patch is shown as grey with a large X in the middle.

The paint type (Matt, Dull, Satin, Gloss or Metallic) is also indicated. The decals will be printed with a basically matt finish, with a certain amount of sheen depending on how much of the glossy backing film shows through. I cannot print metallic colours, so decals will be printed with a flat colour that approximates the general appearance of the metallic colour.

The typical use for the colour is indicated, as the name of a railway company, or "General" for those colours not associated with a specific railway. For some colours further usage notes are also provided.

Filter and Sort Colours

The number of paint colours available is large, so I have provided a number of filters that you can use to reduce the number of colours you see, to home in on the colour you want.

Within a filter specification, the various options are combined as "OR". That is, the more options you select, the more colours that will be displayed. The "Any" option causes all of the other options for that filter to be ignored, and has to be deselected for the other options to take effect.

However, the different filters are combined as "AND". That is, to be displayed a colour has to match all of the filters.
